The difference between off-grid and on-grid solar energy

Installing a solar system is a complex task that requires users to select the right solar panels, estimate power consumption, choose between an off-grid solar inverter and a on-grid solar inverter, and more. Although all solar systems produce photovoltaic effects, it is up to the user to make use of the energy generated by the solar installation. For example, if you want to use a solar system that is independent of the grid, you can choose an off-grid solar system. If the energy output of the system is greater than the consumption, then on-grid solar systems can help users redirect the remaining energy to the grid.

    THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OFF-GRID & ON-GRID

    ON-GRID SOLAR SYSTEM

A on-grid system means that your solar system is connected to a public grid, so you don't have to buy an expensive backup battery system to store energy, so connecting to the grid minimizes upfront costs. However, the main disadvantage of a on-grid system is that it shuts down completely during a power outage. As a result, on-grid solar power systems may not provide good power output in areas with frequent power outages.

    OFF-GRID SOLAR SYSTEM

Off-grid solar systems are not connected to the public grid, but instead use additional battery systems to store solar energy. The energy stored in the battery can be used at night or on cloudy days. As a result, solar systems can be scaled to meet the energy needs of users around the clock. The main advantage of using off-grid solar systems is that the user is not dependent on grid energy, which means that a power outage or outage does not affect the user in any way. At the same time, additional battery systems may increase upfront installation costs for users.

Both types of solar systems, whether on-grid or off-grid, have their own advantages and disadvantages. Our current production of inverter products are mainly off-grid type. Combined with an energy storage battery system, the inverter allows users to better cope with weather changes and grid instability.
