    Brief Introduction of Solar Inverter in Solar Power System

    In the solar power system, the Solar inverter is a crucial part that plays the role of converting DC power to AC power. That is one of the functions of solar inverters we have all realized already.

    However, in addition to this, the inverter used for solar panels also has other characteristics you might pay little attention to.

    1. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)

      MPPT is a technique used with variable power sources to maximize energy extraction as conditions vary(wiki). Because the output efficiency of solar cells is unstable, it varies with the solar radiation intensity and the temperature cell module itself. Meanwhile, the voltage of the cell module decreases when the electric current increases. As these conditions vary, the load characteristic (impedance) that gives the highest power transfer changes. The system is optimized when the load characteristic changes to keep power transfer at the highest efficiency. This optimal load characteristic is called the maximum power point (MPP).

    2. Auto re-stop/re-start functions

      When the solar panel array receives a sufficient amount of sunlight, the inverter automatically starts running. After starting to run, the inverter will monitor the output of the solar cell components all the time, as long as the output power of the solar cell components is greater than the output power required by the inverter, the inverter will continue to run;

      The inverter can also operate on rainy days. When the output of the solar cell module becomes smaller and the output of the inverter is close to 0, the inverter will form a standby state.
